    It's supposed to be the smoke produced by the fire of the lighthouse... It appears it's not so clear. But I can't be more precise, I'm already at a 1 pixel scale...

    I finished hills, trees, mountains, rivers, swamp...
    And started the shadows...

    I'm non completely convinced by the relief in the forests (north and south) ... any advises ?

    To me, your shading would irk for a top down forest which is in conflict with the other features that are in perspective. And the shadings are a little bit repetitive ...

    EDIT: Its starting to get really interesting now. That was a perfect way to break up all those BILLIONS of trees! LOL

    I love how the shading is coming out for the trees. I have been struggling on how to represent forested hills and this is coming out great!

    I'm not completely satisfied with the shading of the northern forest... I'll see what I can do.

    Now, I'll have to draw the shading for all thoses hills, and the southern mountain.
    Next : roads, cities... and labels.
    I fear a little bit the labels, because I've never made that part. But I want to try to write those names by hand and see what will come out of it.

    It's real fun to explore mapping like that... a real (virtual) adventure !
