Yes - don't mess with the mountains any more. They are just perfect

This is looking super cool, and I can't wait to see the labels

Well blah! I've tried about half a dozen different approaches in an effort to get a decent looking forest texture laid into this map and still haven't got it looking quite how I would like. It is a tough thing to do in in the older version of terragen. In any event, with roughly 24 hours to finish this up, I am going to have to go with what I feel were the best results. Probably need to tweak the forest coloring a bit as well as another tweak or two on the grass/plains coloring and, of course actually get my forests where I want them so that I can bang out a final high end render and get the labeling done. Sooooo much to do and so little time....

The forests look a lot better in this version.

I have a tendency to get too involved in the details on 2-dimensional work, which is the main reason I can't draw or sketch.
But this isn't my map, so I'm seeing the impressions, not the details that went into making that impression.
My suggestion is to use a texture like you use in the grass/shrub lands, just a darker green shade.

The forest look fine. They blend in nicely with all the other textures. Get some labels on there and Git-r-Done!

    Aaaaaaarrrrrrgggggghhhhh!!!!!!!

Final render went just fine. First 15 or so labels went just fine. Then....

    KABLOOY!!!!

All of the sudden, my graphics editor quit liking the font I was using. And I have no clue why. Super super, and I mean SUPER frustrating. Gonna post what I have and see if I can switch fonts and still get this finished in time.

Edit: okay, this is really odd, it only gives me problems if I go over a certain font size with a few specific capital letters. Anyone ever had that kind of problem before?

man, this map really made me feel nostalgic, it got a look and feel of SimCity 3/Civilization 3, but far superior. i just love it.
