Hello everyone! <3 Some days ago i had a long session of browsing through my old maps here at the CG (and thereby getting into a very nostalgic and somewhat melancholic mood!) I really miss these honorable halls of exeprtise and mappy wisdom. Once again i couldn't help myself but grabbing pen and paper and start a new world from a blank page.

The perspective is a bit wonky and the landmass looks a bit cramped into the portrait format. Also the lineweight on the bottom half is thicker than on top due to changing the pen midways... XD

Well, hope you enjoy this WIP nonetheless. Thinking about placenames and aproper title atm...
Hints, critique and comments are welcome as always!

I really love your style, especially the mountains. I bet this one would look amazing with color.

Hey, many thanks Turambar. I appreciate it a lot! I want to colour it in some way indeed. I planned originally to use aquarelle but also thought about scanning and colouring digitally... that way it'd be easier to still incorporate the placenames which i forgot to left space for in the drawing process. XD

    The Corrupted Land Of Khajis
Once again, i foolishly tried to make the watercolours do what i want them to do and had to accept some "happy little accidents" along the way.
After the colours being on, i proceeded to mess up the title and screamed a therapeutic "ctrl+Z" from the top of my lungs ... with little effect.
Despite all that, in the end i am quite happy with the result.
Still not sure though what to do about the placenames. Thought about adding them digitally but it might not look that good. Or just going with simple lines to connect the little city/town - circles with the lables being placed around the island in open waters.

I think this looks great! Sometimes the happy accidents of traditional methods are what make them have so much character.
