Jo, this is really outstanding lots of really good things going on.

The forest, is so beautifully done, the shadowing/light especially and the variation in the foliage well done, this immediately caught my eye and is one of the best forest I've seen, however it is a little bit different style than the mountains when zoomed in?

The city icon could have a shadow to blend them into the landscape.
Maybe one or more outer rings on the coastline and then either fade or break them as they go offshore?
You've added a bevel along the river - but at the Delta, maybe that isn't beveled since it would be a very low laying area?
TYPE -Outer glow may be a bit much? I'm not a fan of slanted/angled type, but that a personal issue

Your cliffs at Mardale is really nice, maybe another?
If that a glacier right of Marrair? If so, maybe some snow capped peaks and shadow sides of mountain slopes?

    Have some reps

As promised, here is the latest WIP...
Fellowing advices, I added some coast lines, worked on my deltas, put shadows under my cities and villages, and started the labels (a lot more to do....)
And I will work on the red border too, to give some relief and shadows...

That is very impressive! I love the mountains, and the forests are beautiful.

    Hey Jo

You're really on the home straits now. Its all looking really great. There are just a couple of things about the labels I noticed.

The biggest thing is that unless you are going to put something else in the title scroll (like more words or a decoration of some kind) it might be as well to place the wording in the centre of the scroll vertically, so that there isn't such a noticeable gap beneath it - make it same gap top and bottom, or thereabouts.

The other thing... and this may just be that its in French so I have to work to read the names anyway... but I'm finding it a bit difficult to read that particular font, especially when its against the mountainous backgrounds. You might want to wait to see what other people think, however, because I have been criticised for my own choices of font in the past, so I know that I am no great expert on the matter

    Thanks !
I know it's not really Easy to read, but it's not a font, it's a writing that I've learned... So I'm using it just becaus I like it... I'm not sure I'll change even considering future comments... I'm very fond of the aspect of
    It...

No need to be sorry, after all that means that I haven't lost too much of my skills in calligraphy ;-)

Its a very impressive 'font'. LOL

I wish I could do calligraphy - then I wouldn't have to spend hours and hours looking for the right font for my maps - and then never getting one that's 'just right'

I'm having second thoughts about that red border.... What do you think if I make something more harmonious ?
