I know there was a few slow months at certain times of year, but I would be curious to see how the numbers compare on average from before and after. Certainly the Solar System contest had a lot, but otherwise I feel like the numbers have been similar. But I may be wrong, as I have not gone back and counted numbers each month for the past year.

We can maybe try it monthly again at some point yeah. The bi-monthly method definitely does seem to be gathering more entrants right now so maybe after a year of this we can review it and see how it compares with previous years
Anyway, I'm hosting the next challenge so here's your first hint coming up:
The first person to guess the challenge topic correctly will get ONE EXTRA WEEK to work on their entry. The way I'm going to set it up:
1. If you're the first person to guess correctly, I will notify you by private message one week before the challenge begins.
2. You can then begin your map, but DO NOT post your thread until the challenge officially begins.
3. If no one guesses correctly until the 4th and last hint, you might have only a few days, instead of a week, head-start.
4. If you are the correct guesser, I will rely on your honor not to tell anyone else.
