I liked the old map, I like this new map - and your right that is a cool font.
Which one would you like in the composite ?

I think this is done. I went with the consensus and left out the borders. Here's the final large map:

This is utterly fantastic! I liked the original version but this one just knocks it out the park.

Thanks folks! It turned out quite a bit better than I expected it would. I thought about putting a key in there, but I think it's fairly obvious what each of the 4 icons are: big city > small city > fortress > temple/monastery.
Looks great - love the colors and the the background art and banners finish it all off nicely - well done
