The woods on your last wip look fantastic! In my opinion that's just the right size of the trees.
Risultato meraviglioso!
Wonderful result!

Thankyou , so I am going with that size, too bad that I have to reduce so much the size and resolution of trees, but by the tests I did ...
1 Enlarging the map to 30000x20000 makes the whole painting already made washed out and not fitting with the higher res of trees, , also it does at least double the time of work on the map itself overall as it would require more detail and more work to be put in.
2 I also tried to make regional map at double size and then paste them into the original map ad half the size, but this also creates artefacts as the too many details on the larger map get lost or confused in the smaller scale ( but larger regional ) map.
So I think to just downgrade the trees to a lower resolution and make them fitting in the alredy created map ... I will eventually keep the trees in higher res for other works or may be more interesting enlargements...
This is crazy beautiful! I can't even begin to imagine the amount of time and work that goes into something this massive and this detailed
Marvelous! I hope to see more updates soon!
Ok I have abandoned this for long time and I retook up after a long break , I am considering to change the resolution painting because:
1 Filling the whole 15 k pixel wide with tiny details was taking forever, and I got exhausted , but I still have in mind to complete this.
So the Choice is :
1 Keep the actual smaller resolution , visibile on the right, or Go for a lerger scale detail visible on the left, which ones you think I should follow?

What are tha apparent advantages and disadvantages of the two resolutions ? Considering that the whole map is about 15k x 10k .
enlargement
The Pros
Larger visible features,
less cluttered
Larger detail for trees and possibly smaller items like cities or else
Less time to complete
The Cons
Lesser gerneral Geographical Detail
I need to redo some parts
Less space for tiny detailing
Larger features might look more rough as are enlarged
normal size
The Pros
More details and features,
Allows for Regional Cutting for future use or work without redoing
The Cons
More cluttering on distant view
more time to complete
Less pixel to make smaller details
Trees look smaller and less detailed

Holy smoking cow, how have I not seen this before!? This style is mind-blowingly awesome. My jaw is on the floor, I love it!!!
Hurrah, Fresco of Ausonia is returning! I have a slight preference for the hi-res version, but the most important is the version you feel most comfortable with and that you can finish by keeping your motivation.
