I was wondering when you'd start. Excellent start!
Okay, just to keep people updated on where I'm at with this. A fair bit more to do on it, but I'll definitely be able to get it done before the 20th.
Neighbours are Snodsy to the North(ish), and ChickPea to East.
The landscape is fairly cold and wintry with patchs of more grassland here and there away from the mountains. At the mo, I plan to keep it B&W, but a may colour it with watercolours (or try), but I don't think I'll do it digitally.
Major place names have been done, along with major roads and some rivers, though I feel sooo much pressure doing each label... but touch wood so far so good!
Obviously border, titles and decorations need to be added. Also, some more land details and minor place names, and a shore edgeline.

I'll post some more details on climate and culture in another update, but for now here we are!
That looks great GLS
Very crisp line work.
Glad you've gotten started.
Seems I need to update the map today.

Love it, GLS, great lines and labels. Your rivers are very nicely tapered; you have great command over your line widths. I forget, your background is calligraphy, right? I'm curious what ink and paper you're using!

I've done a few bits and pieces of calligraphy, but actually for this one I'm just using some disposable technical pens as I started it whilst away from my usual workspace so didn't have access to them. As for the paper, it's actually a smooth watercolour paper (super thick at 300g/m^2), so it gives me the option to paint it afterwards if I want, but otherwise is just a very nice surface to work on.
*Edit* - Also I was planning to do it on A3, but as I said was away from my usual space (not that I have any A3 watercolour) so did it on A4 instead.
I love it so far. Your mountains look great, your place names are also very evocative, and of course, you can just tell by the practiced hand that the line work is excellent. I can't wait to see what you do with it.

Looks great so far, hope you'll put some of that watercolor on it too
Looking nice!
I'm allergic to pollen! - Amaranthus hypochondriacus
Okay, I haven't painted it or anything like that (if I even do), but I have added a fair bit more to it. Mainly, a few more names, forests, border details and a some other little details. Either way, though I'm in the middle of doing the top-down close-up section for the atlas page, I'd thought I'd post an update.
Sorry the light wasn't too great this time, but still it's a picture.

Oh and also, if one of the nice all-powerful Leaders is reading this, can you please change the title from "Unnamed Land" to...
..."GLS' Unnamed Land"...
Just kidding, to "The Free Lands of Svarstjorn". Thanks!
