I love how you did the forests and the islands but I think the title looks a little bland, maybe some fancy calligraphy or something like that would help

I'm finally getting around to posting the map in finished maps! Now technically it might not be absolutely completely finished because the client will come back in a while with more names and towns, but for now I am calling it done.
This is for a table top RPG called "Hostargo". Hostargo is the main city in the land.

Overall I really like this. It's the mountains that sell it for me--I love that style, and the colors for the ocean, forests, grasslands all combine wonderfully. I also like the hint of folds running top to bottom, while the border is elegantly simple without being plain.
I'm intrigued by the tablelands (or tepuis?) in and around the western forest, but they don't always rise smoothly from the surrounding woods--sometimes they seem to be resting on top of the forest, or at strange angles. The offshore islands also seem a little aimless and disorganized, as if they were caught still settling into position.
But there are a lot of interesting details that hint at unique features and local character, such as the broad fens or marshes around the southwestern lake, the strange spires to the center-west, and the maybe-fortress almost hidden in a pocket of forest to the northwest. I feel like the landscape has plenty of room for more subtle features like these, and maybe that wide-open feel was specified by the client to give a sense of possibilities.
So, very nicely done overall--and the map does make me want to explore this world.

A very fine map!
Great map Josiah. Hope the client will come back with more labels soon, eager to see how it will look then. Your style is getting better and better with each map.
Cheers,

Already said it but you did wonders on this one !
Great work on this, Josiah. It's a gorgeous map with beautiful colouring. I hope you'll post the updated version with the labels, if you can, as it looks a teeny bit bare without them, but that's a very minor quibble.
Can't rep right now, but I'll try to do so later.

I really like the color scheme of this map! It turned out beautifully. The contrast shading of the ocean is particularly interesting. Fantastic job!
