Default Oct / Nov '17 Lite Challenge: The Free Nation of Venezia

This is kind of a new style for me. Still not sure where I'm going with it, but I figured I'd post the little bit that I have and see what comes of it.

Just a small update. I'm mainly just trying to work out exactly how I want to do things...

What a great start, I like the color scheme... I feel perhaps that the names are a bit dominating, I would make the smaller or lighter to not draw attention from the map itself

Good call, Tilt. Thanks! How's this?

I'm still not sold on the border, and I'll have to redo the woodcut effect since it got a little wonky when I rotated the map. But that'll come later. Not like I don't have enough time...

Names are much better now... I agree on the border, it seems a bit "crude" in comparison to the map itself. It need to be more detailed

Seriously? Your map is practically done.

Looks great. Again, you have a great eye for the colors. Really nice.

Edited. I like the border, lol. Simple but effective. It could probably be a little more to it, cleaner lines or something. But really not that far off.

I like the style but theres some crazy rivers going on in this island. Its like an ice sheet breaking up. You have a lot done for such a short amount of time.

Thanks you. I had a bunch of time to kill yesterday. I'm thinking maybe the border is too wide. Maybe about half the thickness will work, with a different detail on it. I don't know...

Yeah I'm definitely not a professional when it comes to laying out mountains and rivers. I just kinda go with it and see how it turns out. But at least they're all flowing downhill! I think..
