Jan/Feb 2016 Lite Mapping Challenge: Mausoleum of Adōnis

Okay, so here's my first attempt at one of these mapping challenges and this seemed like a pretty good one to experiment with. I'm a little late starting and haven't done too much yet, but here is my very simple initial sketch of a two floor plan. I came up with the idea in my head yesterday and lots of details should be added when I ink it and touch it up.

As I said in a post elsewhere, my current theme of map making centres around their physicality. This is partly why for this challenge, I decided to try and do a folding map (I hope that becomes clearer as these posts go on). Consequently, for the front of this map, I have designed a little mausoleum drawing, which I have pictured below.

I managed to get a fair more done since last time and it's getting more towards a finished piece, though still a few details to put in here and there.

I love the story you've written. It's deliciously creepy. Oh yeah, and the map looks pretty great too!

I like your folded paper idea. It's a nice touch that you don't see so much with digital maps.

Thanks for the compliments! That's one thing I still love about physical maps over digital ones, and since my digital ability isn't up to scratch yet, I may as well experiment with what I can!
