Thread: Concrete/Rock Textures

  1. #1

    Default Concrete/Rock Textures

If anyone can make use of them, here are some images of concrete and rock I took. They aren't seamless though.

These textures, and the seamless ones made by Mouse, can be used for both commercial and personal use (assuming said use is legal, blah blah etc.). Attribution is not required (but is always appreciated!). Notification is not required either, but I'd love to know if they've proved useful. The only restriction is that the textures cannot be resold as textures - that does require permission.

Thanks - These are very cool. If you wanted to make them seamless then I did a tut & utility here:

Gonna be useful for the current GuildCity where theres lots of limestone rocky maps being done.

Thanks for these! I'll never have enough grunge textures.

Interesting, I'll have to take a look at that some time and see if I can make these seamless (I have no objections if anyone else wants to do that in the meantime ).

I was wondering if it would be rude to ask or offer... but if you don't mind, then I'll have a go with a couple of them in Genetica. The ones with the large patterns might be a bit tricky. I'll try some of the smaller patterns first

No, I don't mind - I'm not sure when I'd get around to it! Plus, someone experienced could probably do them faster.

With your permission, then, I will upload the results here for you on your thread - later this evening?

    Yes, that would be great.

Ok. Don't get your hopes up too high though - I'm not a professional artist or anything

    Here goes...

These are uploaded in the same order as your original photographs. They all tile perfectly, but the quality is highly variable in that those with noticeable variations in tone (a bigger more noticeable pattern) are ones that I would use only in very small patches here and there, for they have a very high 'redundancy', which is where the pattern becomes obviously repeating.

All are high res 3000 x 3000 pi uncompressed (except concrete05 and concrete06, which are 2% compressed) JPG images, so you might have to convert/reduce them to suit your software.
