Wip June/July 2016 Lite Challenge: Maplehurst

So I am joining early to maybe finish this time.

Village of Maplehurst is a small village on the crossroads of two important trading routes in the central Saarsgard. The notable place is the Weary Traveler Inn that is known throughout the kingdom for its amazing service and great food. A couple of small shops and a dozen farmhouses that provide the provisions to the inn complete this idyllic little village.

But underneath the great service and peaceful surrounding a dark secret looms...

...As well as some foolish bandits who thought that they could easily pillage the small unguarded village... boy were they wrong...

For the beginning I'm just posting a rough sketch that will change a lot with time

Nice start and I'm liking the intriguing backstory.

Nice layout and story! It has to be a pleasant road to travel with those nice trees on each side.

Thanks Josiah and Ilanthar. One would think it to be pleasant, they do make a lovely scenery and combined with the great service at the Inn people say they really feel rejuvenated after they leave.

So uff, so much work to do with this, should have drawn bigger houses and trees

I finished most of the house detailing and colored them and the main trees. Shading and detail coloring on the to do list but first I think I'll add the rest of thelinework around the map. all the little things that will make the map more alive hopefully

Pink? That is more purple/red no? I mean I actually downloaded a maple leaf picture to grab the exact color from it

Edit: But my pink/purple distinguishing was/is always very bad XD
