Beautiful! Really like the way you braided lines I would love to see some slightly decoration on the circular part...

Hmm ... I could probably make a celtic chain pattern, they're easy enough to do and I *should* practice patterns more.

It looks beautiful. I love knotwork and similar designs.

It does have a, for lack of a better term, "off balance" quality though. The points are at 45 degree intervals, but the lines leading to them and the visual centrelines of the arms don't line up with them and it kind of disrupts the ability to see which direction they are meant to indicate.

Hai-Etlik - I know - it throws the eye of, but the points actually line up perfectly (I double checked!). I'm not sure if I want to keep it looking off balance or not ... in a way it's a neat kink. Maybe I'll add a few lozenges for the directions and a few radials to show the precise degrees, that should clear up the balance issue.

You might try making the centre point a bit clearer. Without a straight edge to line up with, you want the centre and points as precise as possible and that cross shape is kind of fat.

Hey, this will look great on the right map and I think it's kind of awesome how you've inadvertently created an optical illusion.

PS. your last comment made me laugh.
