Default CATHEDRAL CITY - The Invincible (Degenesis-Map)

    Hello again! =)

Recently I finished another map for the DEGENESIS RPG (Free to play here: https://degenesis.com/). This shows Cathedral City, and I'm incredibly happy how the stronghold of one of the Cults developed. :) Hope you like it, too!

    Amazing work.

When do you decide to represent blocks vs. going down and rendering individual buildings? (The Clay has more detail than say The Apple.) It's a nice balance and I'd love to know more about the thought behind it.

Thank you very much, KMAlexander! Yes, it is both a visual balance and another - main - reason: The eastern side was the side where warring clans crashed onto their walls, so there was more destruction. The houses there are smaller, re-build, and not as connected to prevent fires. So this was something that was both practical and a good reason to visually change it up. With other maps I used those structures to indicate newer settlements as well, which fits. Hope that explains it. =)

Very cool. It works really well and reads very "natural" (as much as a city can.)
