Okay, so I got started and this is what I've gotten so far. Any tips? I thinking of showing it as a rough, cold environment. I'm still thinking about the culture but I'm taking inspiration from my neighbors and might go the route of Dwarven nomads. So something like Mongolian horse riders? I don't know yet.

Any C&C is greatly appreciated.

Hi my neighbour.
Dwarven steppe nomads in a harsh and cold land seem a really good background story.
Beware not to try to cross the mountains with beligerent intentions, though, otherwise we will repel you in the name of The Union.

Nahhh, my people tend to be more concerned with keeping up with the herd.
I gotta flesh out more, but I am taking really heavy inspiration from Mongols and Sami People.

It's looking good so far! I like the cavern-like drawing. Just a thing, the blue is a bit to strong imho.

I took Ilanthar's advice and made the blue much less vivid, since the map is made on leather and the only blue dyes available are from wildflowers, thus giving them a slightly dimmer color.
I added more drawings to help symbolize what was found in the country but not mark anything definitively since they are a nomadic society. I'm still playing with ideas but I think I'm on to something.
More C&C is great!

Looks great, lovely colors, the drawings are wonderful Especially the boxy reindeer. But then, I'm partial to Sami culture
