Default Trying to get good dimensions

Hello everyone and its been quite a while!

Eventually I will be updating my main thread regarding my continents but for now I am struggling to get good references on the dimensions of a castle with a certain amount of realism. My questions are basically:
How wide would a keep be if we are talking of a massive castle?
What would be the best way to setup the space within (such as corridors and halls) without making it a labyrinth or an unpractical place to defend in times of war?
We all wish to create, but do we really create?
What we draw and what we write is part of us.
No we do not create, we simply discover who we are.

You really should check out the Shadiversity channel on YouTube. He has a ton of videos on castles and his videos are pretty well put together. I would personally start here though for your question:

I hope that helps. If you're like me you'll get lost on his channel and five hours later you'll stumble out of your medieval stupor ready for battle

You can use open street map or google maps and pan over to some real big castles. May I recommend Caernarfon Castle or Dover Castle for some of the larger castles in the UK. France has some good ones like Angers as well.

yeah, i'd probably use actual castle map floorplans if you're striving for realism!

Krak des Chevaliers is rather large. So is Nimrods Fortress (although it is still much smaller than Krak des Chevaliers, you can actually visit it without risk of getting shot or kidnapped). According to Wikipedia the Nimrods Fortress is 420 meters by 150 meters. And you can see it from miles and miles away and it looks massive. I think the biggest factor in the size and shape of the castle is going to be the terrain it's on.

Also remember that there are walled things bigger than castles, walled cities. And those have been truly huge if that is what you are looking for. Places like the Vatican could be argued to be just really huge fortresses.

I was also going to recommend checking out Shad's channel, but Josh beat me to it.
