Thread: Art Nouveau Style Maps

    Question Art Nouveau Style Maps

I hope this is the correct forum to place this thread in.

I'm looking to create a map in the Art Nouveau style and while I do have ideas of what that should look like in terms of color choice and topography I'm wondering if there are any examples. I found a few modern examples that are very nice. I was wondering if any old map makers adopted this style. It was sort of a flash in the pan art moment that might not have affected cartography.

If anyone has thoughts or examples that would be helpful.

You are looking just for old maps or newer maps as well?
For a starter, Francesca Berald does most of her maps in that style.

Thanks for the name. Yeah, I'm looking for any sort of inspiration. Of the time period would be really cool but anything is fine.

Also a couple of guild world maps:

    https://www.cartographersguild.com/a...chmentid=82413
Which can be found on the Guildworld thumbs here.

If I remember correctly one of those people was doing a few maps in that style at that time. Maybe for some challenges?

According to the website Andreas Palfinger (an Austrian artist from Salzburg) made it - it's in his portfolio.

Thanks for clarifying. I don't understand German so I wasn't sure.

Thanks for finding all these maps! I particularly like the one from the Queen Mary dining room. But this does give me some ideas. I just hope I can make the time to create something cool in this vein.
