    Map Faebled Lands - DaRigh

This one started life as a challenge map - https://www.cartographersguild.com/s...ad.php?t=47400
It was way too ambitious for the amount of time I had, as I jumped in late.

I explained the basic first thoughts on the region...
The DaRigh is the the land of the King, though not a human king.
MorCrahdh is the great tree, from which all energy flows in this land.
And the energy is given to the king by the Grel, and ultimately in turn taken away by shadow grel.
It is a cycle, like life. Many fae forces are at work in this section of the Faebled Lands.

As I did more work and developed the map, as well as the concept further, I was able to integrate it into some of my other story ideas and lands.
That greatly expanded one of my concepts, and pushed me to start writing more of this down, and then typing that into some sort of wiki.So hopefully that will help lead to more story development.
Anyhoo, there will be more back story on patreon

I have to say, the Guild is so often a wonderful springboard for me to generate good ideas to incorporate into the Worlds.
I've been working on the Weave concept for a long time, and only recently have I felt I had a good enough handle on it to be able to start writing about it.
There's still a ton more to work out, but the wiki app is going to help a lot.

Have a great week everyone. Cheers, J

Incredible work ! I remember this challenge, and now look at this map !!!
The fantasy, the light, the colors... just WOW !
And the mushrooms, the crystals, the volcano, the sea monster, the myst... I could go on all day with all the details you put in there !!!
    Amazing !

    Thanks for sharing !

Tiny question : is it Nyrn that I see on the right of the tree ? Like your world of Nyrn ?

    Thanks Joel
    Yep, Nyrn to the right.
Not sure if you mean like world of Nhyn?
I know, so many of my words are close and subtle.
I often name things by the sound of a word I make up, then determine a spelling.
I do have some methods and techniques, but so many of these names are spread across a number of different planes of existence.

In my mind, Nyrn sounds a bit like Nee-urn, but sort of said quick and slid together.
Nhyn is like 9, but just a bit of breath to the H
Like a bit softer N and a sliding HYN
Linguistic things are always complicated, especially when made up and not following hard rules. ;P

Somewhere dark and rather dangerous...and also inhabited by these confounded mosquitoes.

The map is gorgeous, as usual, and your peculiar environments become more and more peculiar as you go on and I love that. What leaves me speechless is the amount of detail you manage to pack on a paper sheet that is smaller than an A4 size ... It is mindblowing and humbling. Great job John and it's an understatement.

A gem map John. Love all the diversity in here. A special mention for the compass is also required. It's gorgeous!

Can't rep your maps for quite some time now, I guess i haven't spent much time here recently, need to spread rep.
