Thread: The City of Waterill 2017

Default The City of Waterill 2017

Took me long enough but finally wrapped this up.

I don't really remember how this map began. Possible as part of a mapping challenge way back, but I'm not certain. Anyhow I try to make at least one personal city project every year, and I guess this will be this year's city. I had so much fun making this and I'm pretty happy with the result. There are some things I would like to work on, but my computer can't handle all the layers that is built into this city, so I will let it rest for now and call it finished.

This was initially drawn traditionally with pen on paper and then colored/edited in Photoshop.

I want to say a big thanks to everyone who gave me feedback along the way. I can't say how much I appreciate it. Wish that I was better at returning the favor!

Anyhow, here it is. The City of Waterill.

    Best Regards,
    Karl

I'm so glad you decided to add more tone and colour to the fields. Everything is just perfect now

    That. Is. Beautiful.

I love the life you've added with all the people actually using the space of the map, it's an incredible addition to the art.

Beautiful! I love how you made it look like and old copperplate/woodblock print.

I can't rep you right now so I'll have to make sure I come back later.

Another beautiful city, Tainotim! Seeing how many details and pencil strokes you're putting on your maps... it's quite understandable that it takes time!

Well done, Karl. I remember when you started working on this one. Truth be told, I thought it was finished months ago. Glad to see it completed.
