January 2018 Challenge: The Realms of Aivak

So after much lurking and watching how the challenges work, I have finally decided to come out of the woodwork and have a go.

Love the idea, and this is where I am so far. Coastlines more or less where they should be, but loads of work to do...

No, much larger scale than that. Still playing about with coastlines, so it's probably going to be a good bit wider, and may even have some mountains on it as well...

OMG, so much faffing and changing things, it's just ridiculous.... I haven't posted all of the revisions because it went through complete changes so many times. All that I have kept now is the basic coastline (although even that has changed a bit, and the concept of the frame (although that may still change until I am actualy satisfied with it.

Anyway, here it is in a slightly more completed version, although still loads to do.

I decided to tone down the blue on the ocean - will probably tone down the colours in the entire map before finishing as well; they look just a bit too vibrant to me.

Added roads and cities, and some of the text.
