Default November/December 2024 Challenge: Snapshots in Time

Since we're still doing 2 month challenges, I'm going to be ambitious. I chose an area in the upper right of the base image to focus on (I took some tiny liberties with the coastlines to tweak into what I thought looked more 'realistic'.) The plan is to do three side-by-side maps of this area at three different points in time (maybe 5 if I finish the first 3). This is an area called the Goblin Coast in the earliest records of the Empire of Arcus. I want to do the first map showing the various tribes and first little Arcusine settlements, second map at the height of Arcusine influence, then the third map as an aftermath, showing the fragmentation and reformation of new nations. That's why I'd like to ideally do two more maps showing mid-points in between, but we'll see. Anyhoo, here's the coastlines all drawn out.

I love the idea of the different points in time! Ambitious indeed, but if someone can tackle such a project...

Btw, I started working on a similar part (a bit more to the west) of the base image for this challenge. It's just such an interesting coastline!!

Thanks Abu and Chashio! Let's see if I can actually finish it; my track record is, eh, spotty.

Most of the hard stuff is actually done though - I've got all the mountains and rivers in place, now it's all names, borders, and decorations. Part of my wanting to do a time progression is that I really love how names change over time, and I wanted to mimic that sense of the passage of centuries a little bit.
