Okay everybody, it's been a long haul. Some of us succeeded. Others... didn't. But hopefully all of us got some enjoyment out of this extra-long theme-mashup challenge. Here are the entries:
CHALLENGE ENTRIES
*** PLEASE NOTE ***
Although you can see our entries, you won't be able to vote for either Straf or I. Straf asked to be disqualified, and my map is in such a state of incompleteness and disarray that I withdrew myself.
BUT, you can vote for as many entries as you like, and please rep the folks you think deserved it, and there are many. Voting will end about this time Tuesday evening, and then we're back to our regular monthly Challenges.
Wow! What a journey!
Congrats everyone.

the skies proclaim the work of His hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.

It certainly was a whopper of an effort, with casualties along the way that cost us dearly in terms of a number of beautiful maps, but all in all I enjoyed the experience. Thanks for the idea, Straf, and thank you Diamond for creating the fine details and running the Challenge
Now all I have to do is vote....
Hmmmmm......

What am I even supposed to do here? All the entries are so different and awesome in their own style how am I supposed to even begin deciding what to vote on?
This may take a while to figure out.
Congrats to everyone who participated and double congrats for those who actually finished this marathon. Well done.
Oh dear! That was extremely difficult
I feel so awful when I don't vote for something I like - as if I've betrayed a friend. The trouble is that they are all so DIFFERENT that I like them all for different reasons - the warmth and character of the hand drawn maps... the spectacular effects of the space maps... the ingenuity of the maps made from resources... the staggering technical talents demonstrated by the computer generated texture maps... All of them.
So I've been very weak and voted for well over half the entries, and excluded only those which were unfinished.
EDIT: And Diamond! That was very naughty of you withdrawing your map. I would have voted for it!

Never mind - maybe you will finish it sometime

No, it wasn't even close. That was maybe only 60% of what I wanted to accomplish. I do think I'll continue working on it. I just got discouraged.
