Nice spiraling effect! French solar system map? Which one, you got me curious.
I guess I will get this contest kicked off as well. I'll have to finish quickly, since I won't be able to work on this the second half of the month due to other engagements.
I decided to go with a wildly different style from my planet map in the Lite challenge. This is loosely inspired by a French solar system map from the early 20th century, though I may not follow the style trictly. Here's my first sketch.

Are you going to shade the planets as if lit from the star? That's the aspect that sticks out most to me.
