That looks wonderful Brian.
The color is really nice. Strong, but not overwhelming.
Colored pencil? or inks? or both?
Hi everyone,
after mostly lurking on instagram and posting WIP pictures there, I've finally got something finished I can show.
Another city in my campaign setting, which the players will probably never visit now the map is done
60 x 42 cm (because Mouse convinced me A3 is too small, I thought I'd give A2 a try)
Micron pens
Coloured pencil
Labels done in photoshop (I have yet to find a convincing way of making PS lettering look like something hand-made, so I haven't even tried here. Still bothers me a bit, though ... )
I hope you like it.

Ooh, pretty. Another one for the Inspo folder. Nice work, as always.

Oh I love seeing this one finished ! It is amazing and your crayon technique is really giving wonderful results ! Congrats on another gem
I loved it on IG, but it's better to see it here !
Abstolutely stunning work, for the town, the surroundings and the illustrations too. A marvel
Just beautiful, I absolutely adore this!
Awesome to see the finished map after all the teasers on Instagram! It's truly beautiful and has a nice authentic feel to it, prachtig werk!
As for the lettering, what software are you using for the text? I always use Photoshop and what I like to do is add a white inner glow from the center of the text, with some noise added to it. This gives the impression of the text being actual ink. I've added a screen capture of my setting for that. It's not the same as actual inked text, but you might give it a try and see how it looks.

No inks. Looking to try those out soon, though. Promarkers seem to be an affordable alternative to copics, so ...
Thank you all ^_^
Thanks, Thomas
I like the results too, but holy hell, it's a lot of work. I think I'd do well to find some more efficient ways of colouring stuff in the future xD
Ooooh, I hadn't thought of that yet. Been mucking around with effects for a while now, but nothing gets me where I want to go. I'll definitely give it a try. Thanks a lot!
