I'm looking forward to seeing more of this one.
There should be more creations like Daerwin's Mouth made.
Especially on a grander scale such as this one!
Falconius for the win.
Wanted right away to jump in this challenge and make a dwarf wayport, a connection between the dwarf underways and the seaways.
Heres the rough plan (I included the barque and some dwarf models for scale):

Do not stare too long into the Abyss, lest the Abyss stare back into you.
Welcome to the Challenge Falconius! Good to have you here!

This caught my eye big time, it's already looking splendid!

Really great start here. Very clean and impressive.
Seeing more 3D rendered maps than I remember seeing before. This is looking great.
I promised myself at the beginning I wouldn't get bogged down with details and yet that is totally what I've been doing, and somehow I'm not disappointed: Minor progress has been made:

I've spent most of this time doing absolutely useless things in terms a of a single scene, mostly fiddling around with nodes and node based materials but also fooling around with modifiers. Even is some of them clearly don't work at the scale I've implemented them at like the rock displacements I was experimenting with for the basic landform, and the sea texture). Still while some of the textures are from tutorials a few are completely homegrown which for some reason I'm pretty happy about, even if they don't actually do precisely what I wanted. Also been working on building some assets which will hopefully be useful for the future. I spent an inordinate about of time working on the block and tackle for my rigging which you basically can't even see at the scale of the final work.
in any case with the time crunch coming on I obviously have to change strategy if I have any hope of making an actual thing by the end.
PS: Sorry about the dwarves, those are my base dwarf meshes, and I don't have any with clothes, hence the black bars. They are 1.2 meters tall.
Thanks, I looked that up and watched a lets play. Very cool atmosphere.
Thanks Bogie
Unfortunately I'm really not known for finishing my maps , but thanks.
Thank you Arimel.
Thanks. Almost always my intention is to use the 3d as a jumping off point, but i never seem to get to the finishing stages where I would overpaint/draw it because i just really like fiddling around with the 3d stuff too much.
Amazing work! Still in complete awe at how you can do this stuff.

I was just doing a test shot to see how well the "indirect only" render option would work on the roof and I think it looked pretty cool so I thought I'd share:

I have no idea why the ground goes pitch black in the cave, it's the same materiel as the dock to the top right.
I also have no idea why the boolean is acting funny on the support columns, I've tried fixing it a couple of times. Ideally it would cap the cut.
Edit:
Thanks Chick Pea.
