    Default Oona

I got a tip from someone on deviantart and after a little bit of Wilbur fiddling and a lot of Photoshop fiddling I created this map whose height map I'd generated using a guild members' Photoshop tutorial (something about difference clouds, overlay, gradient fill circles and stuff?).

The name came when I was in some sort of weird wikipedia loop (it started with Bermuda) and ended up on Oona O'Neill (also, I got re-stuck in the loop and finished on one of Chaplin's unproduced films)

?Oh, but nevermind that! here's the island Oona

Your attachment isn't working for me. Could you try re-uploading it, or posting it as an image in a post?

I really like that. Convincing landforms (with a hint of elevation lines?) and good colors make it pop. Not a huge fan of the thick, overwhelming border, but that's a minor quibble.

And I hear ya about Wiki rabbit holes. I went from looking up info on St. Louis, Missouri to reading about the reproductive cycle of wasps.

Nice start. I'd suggest ditching the ocean terrain details and just have flat sea - it draws the eye away from the island, particularly since you have terrain plus the outlining, it's a bit confusing stylistically. And yes the checkerboard border is a bit distracting, and it actually overlaps a bit of the map at the top.

Aww, I really liked the border, especially the bit here it overlapped the map :p

But I definitely agree about the ocean terrain. I was trying to minimize it a lot, but it just kept popping up!! I'll fix that no problem!

    eproductive cycle of wasps
    .... what kind of wasps?

Don't remember what kind. They're all nasty little buggers that need to die in a fire though.
