Aug/Sept/Oct '21 Lite Challenge: Map a Campsite!

Because I have been so busy and busy procrastinating we are starting over a week later than usual, So this Challenge is going to last TWO MONTHS!

I would like you to create a map of a Campsite. This idea came to me because last weekend I spent 3 days in the woods camping with 50 other gamers. It was like a mini Con in the woods beside a river. There were 7 gaming tables going at any given time, I played D&D, Conan, Spies, and Thundaar the Barbarian. Lots of fun except for the mosquito bites.
Anyway, make a map of some type of campsite. Make the traditional D&D roadside campsite as an encounter battlemap, or a Gypsy Camp, or map a modern campground, or a Boy Scout or Girl Scout Jamboree camp, Camp Grenada (Hello Mudda, Hello Fadda, here I am at ...) or go historical and map Washington's campsite at Valley Forge, or Alexander The Great's campsites in eastern Europe, or a huge Orc Army Campsite or a regional map that shows the locations of all the armies campsites before the big battle, or the trail camp from the movie Blazing Saddles where all the cowboys sit around eating chili and farting. Many other possibilities. That gives you a lot of choices. Take your pick or come up with an entirely different idea.

Also remember to preface each image you want to show up in the thumbnail scraper
with: ### Latest WIP ### (If you don't, your map won't show up for the voters at
voting time, which might hurt your chances. ) Try using the WIP Icon to make it nice and easy.

Please note: If you put more than one image on the same post, only one of them gets picked up.

The challenge will end on or about the 14th of October, after which we'll have 3 days of voting. The winner of this TWO MONTH challenge will receive, a circular silver compass, demonstrating his or her Magnificence!

Quick rules reminder: The Lite Challenge is open to anyone who has not already won 3 Silver compasses,
1 Gold Compass, or been selected as a featured Cartographer's Choice Map.
Also, the map has to be started on or after the first day of the challenge, no reusing older maps even if they were not finished, unless you start over from scratch.

What a relief to see you alive and typing things, Herr Bogermeister! I may have let my imagination get a little carried away with me, perhaps, with my concern for your well being.
However, having you back and hosting excellent challenges (like the one you've laid before us) makes it all worthwhile. I'm looking forward to giving this one a go.

By the way, that camping trip you mentioned sounds amazing! I would wish for something like here in Florida, but they'd need to host it in December - January probably to make the weather tolerable.

Sorry to have caused you concern, I am fine, just to busy.

The camping trip was great, but we also have a narrow window of good weather, June -August. And it still was Hot & Humid with 100% chance of mosquitoes!!

Hey, Long time no talk =)
It is fun to stumble in here, because I'm actually going to start a campsite map for my own amusement/training.
Would be appropriate to work on the piece for the contest, and If I do, will I be free to make it a commercial piece later, for my own market? I should find out something more about the rules.. But I'm open to feedback!
However the map is for a personal project, so no hird parts are involved!

Your maps are always your maps, you are free to do with them whatever you wish.
The only rule that matters is that you start the map after we announce the new challenge, not before.

Perfect! Consider yourself motivated! Or do I have to send cousin Massimo to pay you a motivational visit?
Just kidding of course. I remember a short story, I think it was on the Twilight Zone, where this company guaranteed you would quit smoking. Only after you sign up do you find out that the company is a front for the mafia and if they catch you smoking they break your legs, cut off your fingers etc. And if that doesn't work the final threat is "Dead men don't smoke"
But I will let you motivate yourself...
