Wip April 2014 Entry - Pit of Madness

So, yeah .. this is how I imagine Hell:
Just emptiness, you don't know where you are, you've got no sense of direction and you don't see, hear or even smell a goddamn thing...

Heh! For some reason, this reminds me of that great milk ad from several years ago!

Nice. I had a similar thought of doing a blank "black" document as a way or representing the the Christian Annihilationist view of Hell.

That would be so nice… No distractions, no obligations, no bosses, just your thoughts and imagination. Wonderful. For a little while, at least. Then it'd probably be hell.

    Clever entry

So .. I toyed around with different shades of white.
    The result is rather interesting:
On my screen at first the "map" appears blank white.
Looking at the map from different angles, I can actually see those shades of white - can you, too?

    Kind regards,
    Kai

Is there a hellish subliminal message in there somewhere?
    Cartography is fun.

Actually I'm trying to figure out, how far I can stretch this "everything is white" stuff with different shades of white.
And when I figured out, I thought of hiding one or more demonic faces (or even whole demons) in this picture.
Hiding as in "your subconsciouness notices them, but your eyes don't".
Not sure, whether this whole thing works as it does in my mind, though..

If Robert Rauschenberg had been a cartographer, he might have produced something like this...
