Default The City of Yol-Ghurmak (+WIPs)

    Hey everyone! =)

Yol-Gurmak is a demon-infested metropole with only 20% inhabited houses. It shifts and changes overnight, dark clouds always hanging above. Only during magical hour in the morning, a few rays of sunshine regret to light the city from the southeast. I posted an ingame-version I made for this earlier: https://www.cartographersguild.com/s...l=1#post401554.

Really like this, great job mate. You've really captured the dark and dangerous feel of this city!

A very different vibe, I like it. You have quite a unique style here. This map captures the dark feel very well, imo.

Another great map. You've really been knocking them out of the park for these commissions.

@Sandman01086: Thank you very much! =)

@Eilathen: Glad you feel that way, thank you!

@Falconius: Thanks, I hope I can always deliver

@Kellerica: *laughs* Thank you! There is a lot going on recently, I hope to show even more this year, but yeah, I'm really proud of this one. It will go straight into my portfolio.

OK now this is just badass! Really, the city design is just so well done, and the colors really create a great atmosphere. Straight into my inspiration folder she goes. Sorry I can't rep you again so soon because this is truly inspiring work.

    Cheers,

The map looks especially consistent and realistic to me, and it's such a joy to wander among all those details.
By the way... I have the feeling the gap between WIP3 and the final version, adding the shadows (shading ? shade ? I can never remember what's the good one) maybe encapsulate the secret of your wonderful style : switching between them is magical

@MistyBeee: Not all who wander are lost, I know, but nevertheless: Be careful in this mean streets. I always think there can't be a secret laying bare all I do. I will include some more steps tomorrow when I share the making-of; it will be in German, but there are some more steps. Thank you very much, appreciate it! =)

Wow, much accumulated praise by so many talented people. Thank you all, the resonance (not only here) is blowing me away! *___*
