Default Are the letters in the "Image Verification" box case sensitive?

When I type in the letters and numbers for Image Verification to allow a search (or post) to go through, it sometimes fails. I'm wondering if it's because I misidentified a character or because I typed (e.g.) a "p" instead of a "P"

I am not sure but if you reply to this post then you will have 5 posts and not need the verification any more....

It's taken so long for me to reach five posts mostly because I've been intimidated by the artistic maps here. I'm more inclined to toss off very plain utilitarian maps, mostly in black and white.

Yes thats the ticket ! I think your a "guild novice" as a rep level which I think means it has made you a guild member and started you off. Before I think you are a "guild apprentice" or something similar. Anyway all this means no more verification for you

I've had to re-enroll under a new name, which is fine, but I'm glad to see the image verification will go away as I find it hard to use.

I also wanted to encourage you all to consider some alternate method, as I for the first time in my life have excellent vision after eye surgery over the summer. But it makes me very sensitive to features challenging to those with vision problems that aren't correctable. Which includes this image verification, I'm sure it would be near-insolvable for people with color issues. It's hard enough to identify the letters for me in many iterations even with multiple refreshes, so I suspect folks with other kinds of visual limitations would have it even worse.

It IS, at least, better than "find the bridge" or "find the traffic light", which is almost always impossible. I've seen one that involves re-orienting a picture of an animal so it's right-side-up, which I think is the best of this suspect bunch. I certainly sympathize with the unending spam tsunami that requires this, but I wanted to share that CG may be making it hard for folk with certain limitations to get in here.

I understand that all of the verification CAPCHAS are annoying but I hope that after 5 posts you dont need them any more. We had complaints about the previous one used so it was changed. Personally I hate the google one the most. In fact usually if I come across a site that has it then I bail on the site.

Also, if you wished to change your username then PM me or another admin and we could have done it and kept your old posts and membership status.
