    Post January Challenge: Voting

    We had three entrants to the January Challenge, 'An Invitation to Remember'.

    As a reminder the rules of the challenge were:

    An extremely wealthy merchant is throwing a fantastic party in honor of meeting some exorbitant goal in his merchanting. He has asked his most trusted (and well paid) scribe to create an invitation worthy of the occasion, and insists that it includes a map to his fancy abode.

    Your job as challenge participant is to create this map. Whether or not you make the map part of the invitation or even create the invitation in its entirety is up to you, but you must make sure that the map is something that would be "worthy" of the wealthiest merchant around.

    Guidelines:
    • Create a map that shows travel directions from a major landmark to the wealthy merchant's home;
    • The Merchant's home may be inside or outside an urban area;
    • The map must include at least one major landmark;
    • The format must be worthy of a wealthy merchant;
    • Optional: Provide a copy of the invitation, or integrate map into an invitation
    The Entries were:

    A Thousand Welcomes - by Game Printer

    Thannergos azan kel-Telormar - by Redrobes

    An Invitation you can't refuse - by mathuwm

    Voting will close at midnight on Wednesday 6th February.

    Vote away!! May the best invitation produce a guest or two!

    Well done Gamerprinter. Another worthy win.

    I'm snowed under this month but if your not entering I might just have to find the time and try again... its my only chance ! Heh.

    Still, as a ratio, I got infinitely more votes than I did last month last month. And with that same rate of progress, I should have infinite votes next time and clean up.

    Theres a flaw in the math there somewhere...

    Good win, GP! Hooray for you--and for all us in the Guild who experienced the nice maps produced by one and all!

    Post Thanks!

    Thanks guys! I got busy at work this month (even still), so I almost bowed out of January's Challenge, until I learned what it was. I was so intrigued with the idea of creating a "directions map" in the confines of an invitation - something completely different than a traditional map. I was compelled to participate and only took about 6 hours total over 6 days.

    Technically, I'm the third "two time winner" - RobA, Publius and me.
