    Default Varenthia

I've always wanted to post a map in this section. This is my map from the September challenge, and my first ever completed map. Being a part of the challenge, and having a deadline is really what pushed me to finally finish something, and I learned so much doing it. It's a style I'd never tried before mostly inspired by Diamonds beautiful shaded relief mountains that I've admired for so long.

I'd like to say thanks to everyone who gave feedback, and advice in the WIP thread which can be found at the link below.

Really great map kacey! You really put the color palette to good use and there's so much I like about this map: the border art, the labels ( especially the nation labels) and their placement, the landmark icons, the title, the subtle yet great cartouche. All in all this is a spectacular first finished piece.

And finally I'd like to say that it's funny that you're inspired by Diamonds map, because that's just what I was thinking when I checked the WIP.

Cool map, kacey! It gives me a Final Fantasy-ish vibe (but maybe that's just me ).
And Diamond is always a good source for inspiration

Congrats for your first map in the Finished Maps section!

I already repped this in the now closed WIP thread, but I just had to stop by again I really dig this one, Kacey. I especially love the mountains, and the border and the typography look fantastic! Way to go, and congrats on having finished a map - that took me a long time as well...

Thanks guy's, if it weren't for the support I've gotten here at the guild I never would have finished anything, it's much appreciated.

And thanks for the nice rep comments Wired, and Kelleri.

Thanks Ilanthar, those colours were hard to work with, I'm glad I was able to pull it off.

Well, I'm sure flattered that I was able to inspire such a great, atmospheric map!
