Map City of Saryenia: The Red Epic/Blando

Here is another greyscale maps I illustrated for the Buried Heart series, published by Little Brown Books.

In this city map, the publisher wished me to match my style to my buddy Mike Schley's since he had done the 1st and 3rd in the series as a whole. The shield designs and ships were my favorite parts, as well as the clean line work, something I'm not really used to doing.

Thanks both of you, and I believe it is a siege, though I have not read the book!

An amazing map - as if you ever did any other kind. I probably can't rep you so soon again, but I'll try.

Indeed! I'm not sure I can rep you again, but be sure that I will! It looks so great, with all those banners and farmlands... A pleasure to the eyes!

Great lines. The shield designs are very nice, but I must admit that I don't understand what the rectangular sword symbols represent. Maybe force deployments? But then why aren't there any next to the Kingdom of East Saro shields to the east of the city? It would probably all makes sense if I had read the book.
