Really great layout, I like it a lot!
Dear friends,
today presenting a city mapping project, the City of Brignogard, Capital of the Wallungian Empire and Seat of the Great King Torvin III The Great as well as of the Synod of the West.
Brignogard's History will be explained soon.
The City so far is biggest City of the northern Wallungian Empire with about 27.000 inhabitants. It's located at the River Aeron, which has been divided into four arms there. Due to this, it was a good crossing location for the Aeron River and and therefore there were early settlements, fords and finally the first bridge.
The map - or better the maps - are a two pages extract from an aging hand-drawn atlas of James of Hemkroigh. They are showing little maps, focussing on the historic development of the city, starting from the first Kergan Village named "Brignor" (Year 680 Old Age), continuing with the ithyllic City of "Colonia Aeronis Brignis" (Year 60) and leading to the Wallungian City of Brignogard, before the Age og Torvin The Great (Year 790). The big map is showing Brignogard at Torvin's Dead in 820.
The left side will look like this somehow:

The right side with the bigger map kind of like this:

That map is great. Looking forward to see how it progresses.

This is beautiful
How did you colorize it? By hand, or computer assisted? Your palette fits perfectly the map
Whoa, cool! What's the big building in the center island?
Very good, love it
I specially like the disposition of walls and buildings in relation with the river. Quite interesting, and most reallistic if I may say
Just a question, what's in the little loop of river to the west, surrounded by walls? Is it a ruin? Seems odd building expensive walls on a loop of riverbank, on treacherous marshy soil, where there's nothing inside.
