DDOS attack on Dreamhost
Has to do with name servers I was told.
I'm guessing nobody's going to be able to see this, but what the heck...
DNS servers seem to be in the process of forgetting the addresses of cartographersguild.com and fantaseum.com
Did somebody forget to pay a bill?
I managed to persuade google's dns server (at 8.8.8. to give me the numeric IP address of cartoguild.cartographersguild.com [64.71.79.207] (which is what I'm using right now)
but our local DNS servers don't know it and now google's forgotten it, too.

Thanks. That does explain it. Dreamhost's Web site is unavailable, too.
*sigh* Hopefully they'll be able to recover and discover the culprit.
Oh, well, it gives me more time to compose a response to one of the threads I'm following

Suggestion: It might be appropriate to use the cartographersguild twitter account to post a notice about this and/or status reports

I was wondering if it was just me.
Well that's just weird. I'm not having any problems whatsoever!

I tweeted that there might be some downtime about 6.30ish UK time (just over an hour ago), after Robbie alerted me. Wasn't sure what the issue was and I was too busy to dig into it at that point, but the warning did go out.

I must have been logged in long before it started. I understand that if you are already logged into a site before a DDOS attack it doesn't affect you?
