    Question A nice "look" for my cartographer game?

    Hi, I'm making a little board game that includes a map...

    It is a cooperative, tile-placement puzzle game where players work together to chart an unbroken path through modular landscapes. Using a mix of path tiles, landmarks, and strategic map markers navigate around obstacles like ponds and boulders while meeting unique terrain challenges. Each turn, players place tiles to expand the route, ensuring it passes through required landmarks and avoids impassable terrain like lakes and mountains.

    It currently looks like this:

    But I am considering making it more parchment-loke:

    What do you think?

    Interesting. Both versions look decent. My only thought is if you go with parchment, or in either case really but especially if hue contrast is lessened, just make sure there's enough value contrast between visual elements that it's still easy to read in low light conditions of potentially dimly lit rooms players may be hanging out in.
