Dec '17 /Jan '18 Lite Challenge: Map Something from your Home Town.

Map something from your Home Town. A park, a lake, a tourist attraction, an interesting building or shopping center. Map it as it really is, or map a SciFi or Fantasy version of it. If you can, include a picture of what it really looks like. Come up with something unexpected if you want to.

Win a silver compass, you know you want one, come and get it.

The Challenge will run until the end of the day on the 15th of January (Midnight eastern daylight time between the 14th and 15th, more or less, depending on when I can get to the computer to start the voting) and then there will be 3 days of voting. Someone is going to win a Shiny Silver Compass, make it yours!

Don't forget to put the hashtag: ### Latest WIP ### in front of all WIP pictures, and especially in front of your final map. And don't forget, there is a WIP button that automatically posts this for you. Try it, You'll like it!

And remember, if you put more than one image on the same post, only one of them gets picked up.

Quick rules reminder: The Lite Challenge is open to anyone who has not already won 3 Silver compasses, 1 Gold Compass, or been selected as a featured Cartographer's Choice Map.
Also, the map has to be started after the first day of the challenge, no reusing older maps even if they were not finished.

Your choice, besides, how would we ever know the difference? "I live in Maine but I was born on Alpha Centauri Prime" you don't know.
And Straff, aren't you the King of making home town maps? Should be right up your neighborhood.

I've never made a hometown map Bogie. I did do a local map once but it wasn't of a town centre.

Oh yes! I want to! I want to! I want to. But... what am I going to pick? :O Hmm...~ Uh, maybe I'll do a fantasy version of the church in my home town. That would be cool. Ahhhh... I wish I could pick any place... But then well, the places I would need for a certain fantasy setting... most of them are non-existent by now... (Most of it is london from before the fire of 1666... but fantasy-ish). Not my home town though. xD But well. xD

Hmmmmmmmmmm..... I just recently moved to my home town, so I don't know it very well.... but perhaps I could do a fantasy version of my own little house? That might be pretty cool to try....
