Printing your Map
I'm new to this forum and cartography. Does anyone know of a way to print a large copy of your map as a poster to put on a wall? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
I don't know what Italy has, but over here we have office supply stores, even including places like WalMart, that print poster size prints from digital files.
If you can't find that, there must be professional print shops that do. I have three just in the small city where I live, and the cost is not all that much.
And there are places online where you can get a poster printed and mailed to you, but of course that adds the cost of the shipping.
I didn't know Walmart did that. We probably have places that do that over here, I'll have to look it up. It's a lot harder to find services for stuff overseas then in America. Not the mention the time it takes for an Amazon package to arrive....
We are a bit 'Spoiled" here in the States for sure.
There several ways online to get it done if you can't find a Local place...
Sign up for a Deviant Art account...Upload and have them print it out..
Another place is Pixels...same thing..They also offer print services.
No Idea how much the printing cost would be nor shippng costs from Either..

There is a way to print out one's map at home, but it requires assembling printer pages together with tape. The program is free. It defeats the purpose of a single, poster-sized map that is one piece, but with care it can result in a large version of your map image if you're not picky about how visible the seams may be.... Not sure this is what you're asking for...
