    Map Albernia & Windhag (Aventuria)

    Hey guys! =)

    Happy to show the regions Albernia & Windhag, a map I made recently and I already posted some steps over here. Pretty proud how this turned out, even though I distanced myself from the green of the forest which just wasn't working. Autumnal-themed also works really well with this one.

    Really great to see this done, Steffen! I wasn't sure how you were going to approach the colouring, but you definitely made teh right choice keeping it all in a limited palette!

    It's amazing just how much you managed to squeeze into this piece, especially in the lovely borderwork. It reminds me of bit of Francesca Baerald's work, but with your own style woven in there too. It's definitely heading to my inspiration folder!

    Fantastic job al round and I hope you client is more than happy with it!

    Haven't had the opportunity to comment on the WIP but, oh boy, it's gorgeous ! I love this style of yours and, while staying faithful to it, you managed to give it some new wind. I really love it ! (and I cannot wait to receive the french version and, at last, see your maps printed)

    @GLS: Usually clients are happy with what I do! It was an immense inspiration, I draw my hat before people who work traditionally and with watercolors.

    @Mouse: Thank you!

    @thomrey: Thanks! Don't worry, I didn't think that many people would comment on a WIP, but I'm amazed about how many do. Well, all the better, getting critique on an early stage is much more valuable than later. Happy to translate everything when time comes to English and French!

    This is soooo beautiful. Loving the colors, the water, and the detailed border (shells especially). Gah.

    I think this is a really great map Steffen. For some reason I can see this bursting into flames as the opening credits of a film - sort of Bonanza style. I think there's an air of drama about it, not in a sinister way, it doesn't feel dark or anything but more like there are a lot of stories just waiting to be told.I don't know if anyone else gets these things from maps.
