February 2019 Challenge: Beauty and the Beast village
Hey Guild !
Time to jump in !
Tainotim challenged me to draw the village in Disney's Beauty and the Beast in my Hogsmeade style. French village in medieval times, including the well known locations : Belle's home, bookstore, square and tavern, bakery... And as I'm a lucky bee and he's the best client ever, I'm free for almost... everything, so I can only empathise with those of you who had a super challenging brief ^^'
But... but... will I choose the easy path ? Nah... who needs the easy way ? Who needs to sleep, or to eat, or to have evenings or weekends ? I don't need that ! But what I absolutely need is obviously some kind of insane gothic flourishes border !! \o/
So let's start with a basic sketch. Not sure if I'll keep the castle as it is or if I'll change it. Not sure about the village as well : maybe I'll add a few houses in North. But well, it's just a first step to think about composition, etc. Let's start with this and see where it goes

This will be yet another great one to watch.
You're maps always have a certain aesthetic that just appeals to the eye, and this one is starting out as no exception. Definitely got the Beauty part down, but what are you gonna do about the Beast?
