D&D Homebrew Fantasy World Map for Personal Use

Hi all!

I’m looking to get a world map of Lux - our D&D campaign’s homebrew fantasy world! Details are below - I’m unfortunately unfamiliar with cartography and mapmaking and merely a fantasy and dnd enthusiast looking to get something special made for our campaign - super open to thoughts on style and negotiation

Subject

We are looking to get a map of Lux made - which is a world composed of two continents, Solas and Tenebras.

Solas is a land of eternal day while Tenebras is a land of constant night. I’ve attached our rough maps of both locations and we are ideally looking to get something that would show both of them on one map (with the ruins of Aminia in between)

Solas has many different regions but is united under one empire so no borders to divide the regions. Most cities are found along the coast where the temperature and conditions are more suitable, and the centre of the continent mainly consists of the Sun Spot - an unbearable desert that the regular being can’t possibly travel. The Golden Glades in the north east is home to the capital city of Holem and where most settlement has taken place. In the swampy southern marshes, lies the busy (and unpredictably arcane) Palios. To the north lies the shattered remains of the northern mountains and Umbra Eternal, destroyed when a large arcane ring ripped the world in two.

Tenebras is much less united, the continent divided into different countries and filled with bioluminescent flora and fauna to light the dark. From the Crown of Ice torn apart like the Shattered North in Solace, to the seaside 15 Isles in the south (home to pirates and privateers) - Tenebras remains a bit of a mystery to those in Solace as the continents were just recently rejoined by repairing the Ring that surrounds the word.

Lying between them is the torn apart ruins of Aminia - a lost city of twilight where arcane innovation and connections with the fey ran rampant.

Of course, there are many more details and I’m happy to discuss with anyone interested in taking the commission to make sure you’ve got a grasp of the world.

Style

* Some examples for colouring, style and landmark design attached to give a general idea!
* I’m open to designing it as one full world map or two smaller separate maps as it could be difficult to frame them both without one continent being upside down (the Crown of Ice and the Shattered North face each other but both should read as north to their respective regions) - would love to show the ring surrounding both regions.
* The map doesn’t have to be super detailed, but we’d want to put more emphasis on major landmarks (i.e the palace in Holem or a major library in Tatum) and environmental aspects (i.e. the shattered mountains and ruins of Aminia / desert of the Sun Spot / the everlasting night in Tenebras) as opposed to a focus on roads or getting all cities placed or a major focus on scale.
* Looking at generally a parchment look, but interested in muted / vintage looking colour palette
* Please use the style examples only as a starting point - I’d love to see portfolios and incorporate any suggestions to make the map feel cool! You all are the experts!


Quality & Size

* Looking to get it printed to 24” x 36” (A1), 300 DPI
* Would love semi-professional quality but it is only for personal and private use so happy to explore options to get the style we like or to chat with anyone interested!


Time Constraints

I’d love to have a rough sketch done for Dec 20th so I can share with my party at our last session of the year as a holiday surprise and get any of their thoughts before finalizing. Beyond that looking for completion to be in Jan - Early Feb of 2025.
