Map Map for The Orc and Her Bride by Lila Gwynn

Hey y'all! I was commissioned to do a map for Lila Gwynn's f/f romance novel, The Orc and Her Bride. One of the heroines has a rose garden, so I incorporated roses into the border. Plus, roses are always a good fit for a romance novel!

This is very nice. It is small and neat and yet it has everything to spark interest.
It's realistic and believable but also a bit cartoony and old school which makes the card very comfy.

Is "Torden" written in a different font-weight than "Orc Country"?

    Thank you!

Yes, "Orc Country" is in bold and encompasses Torden and the two neighboring countries on the peninsula. It's at the same "level" as "Elven Islands" and "Human Territory."

    That makes sense.

    I like the bold Coastline.
Its a nice map to get a quick overview of the places that the novel probably takes place in.

    Good job

Very nice and simple, sometimes that's all you need. I can imagine this looking really nice when printed on a page! The roses and blades are a nice touch.

Really really cool! I love maps in this style, it reminds me of those printed in old classic fantasy. Used to pull my dad's old fantasy novels off the shelf and see maps like this, love it!

Thank you! I think part of the fun with maps is including decorative elements in the borders. For book maps, I think that also gives the chance to tie things in to the story more.
