Great map and fun concept! I could really see this in a book
Cheers,
Karl
Hi guildsmates,
I was recently commissioned to draw a strange map. This world is a floating egg containing a dragon that might or might not be alive (my first quantum map !!). It broke the egg with it's nose tooth (for lack of a better name) but stayed inside. The egg shel got a bit broken but the egg remained and people live on it. The client wanted a left side pretty open and a right side more savage and cluttered. I used the shell properties to play with plateaus and there are a lot. It was a pretty fun map to work on and a good way to practice with these mountains again.
Here it is :

Nice job ! It must have been quite hard to put that kind of statement into a map ! Congratulations !
Huh, that is a rater unique idea for a setting. Very well illustrated Thomas.

What a great concept, love the idea, some of your small islands off the main one, look like eggs/over easy. Nice Job!!
Excellent job Tom, that must have been quite a challenging brief!
Thanks a lot Karl ! I'm, indeed, trying to polish the black and white book style.
Thanks a lot Adfor
Merci beaucoup Joël, the prompt was a bit surprising but sketching can beat any demand. You doodle and the map comes to life by itself in the end.
Thanks Tad
Hey Ric, glad to see you around those parts ! And thanks for the praise also, you made me hungry for a pan full of eggs
Héhé, merci Julien You're gonna see them again soon
Thanks Tonquani ! It was a bit of a challenge but the shell structure sold the thing plus it allowed me to go crazy with the islands and then the waves were a pain but I like the end result.
Sounds like you're talking about an eggtooth (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egg_tooth).
