Great job! That blue makes a great contrast with the black and white map.
Here's a map I did in my spare time these last few weeks. Thanks again to all the guild members who helped me out with labels, ultimately next time I think I should plan ahead.
Also please ignore the bottom right corner, as my paper is very thin and ripped a little.

Nice work Sam

And I totally agree with Nopkin.

Thanks! I hoped it would be a nice color scheme.
Thanks
Thanks for the praise, hopefully interesting is a good thing in context or at very least lends itself to the map.
I had quite a hard time with the labels and ended up with this, ultimately I think I just need to plan ahead for labels next time.
Great map. I love the contrast between the blue and the black.
I also think the blurring behind the labels take away a bit from the finish here, but I can see the difficulties in getting a label there that will be visible enough. How would it look to erase the map in a small halo around the label? Or rather making the map details around the labels. I've seen people do it that way very successfully. Or how about making them with a thin blue line, or a glow? Just brainstorming here even though I know the map is finished. Nevertheless, it's a great piece that works just fine the way you did the labels too.
This map is so nice. I love how you used the colors, and the shape of the land is very intriguing! I agree with Ilanthar that the blur behind the labels seems a bit odd. I think that the white stroke you used earlier would have looked better. Other than that, it's really a great piece!
Yeah the labels were a major point of contention, and I tried most of what you said, however due to my meager gimp skills and the way the map is layered it proved problematic to make work. Glad it turned out okay though.
Thanks, I would agree to disagree with the white stroke but hey, it's all personal preference. Glad the mountains and trees worked out as that's really what this was testing.
