    Wip Continent Map

Something I'm working on and have been doing so for a few days. This is at 25% of the psd.
I was thinking that the rivers looked a little off and was wondering if anyone had any ideas that'd make them look less scribbled in... I've tried shading around them but I still thinks it looks a little funny.

The colors are unique and work extremely well and the rivers look fine to me. Excellent work!

I agree, the map is very visually appealing, and I have no issues with the rivers.

A good job I must say.

The rivers are fine to my eyes. In my own maps I usually go for a slightly different colour around the rivers, you might try that (but keep it subtle, you have a nice colour scheme going here and too much of a colour change might attract too much attention to the rivers).

The white oceans are interesting, you don't see those a lot

    Thanks. ^^
Colours are inspired partly by the map of Vvardenfel for the Elder Scrolls Morrowind.

I think I'll try a slight change in colour around the rivers edge, might stop them from vanishing when I zoom out further.

I agree. Since the landmass is already green, I'd just darken the area around them a bit to indicate the river valleys.

I think you overused one of your mountain symbols: the one with the large mountain and a smaller one attached to its right side. It's a distinctive arrangement, so it stands out that you used it a lot. The triple peak with a large mountain in front and two tucked in behind it drew my attention, also; you used it quite a bit, too.

I agree about the rivers. Real rivers wind and wiggle every which way. They just fallow the path of least resistance, in other words they're just scribbled into the landscape.

Also, there's a large lake on the Western most part of the peninsula with out an inlet/outlet. You could either just add a squiggle to connect it to the river thats right by it, or add some marsh lands that overlap both the river and lake.

I like the second option as i like to trow Lizard-men at my players.
