This is a fun map. I especially like your details of cities, towns, etc. in the key, something I have been struggling with.
Hi guys! I know, it's been some time... Since I am in college, I really have a lot less time for myself, and when I have some, I don't necessarily work on my maps! BUT I really had a craving for it recently, so here it is!
This is a personal map I did for a novel I am writing. There may be some names missing at the moment, but since I don't know them all myself I will add them in time! Hope you like it, I've been working on it for quite a while now... It may not be totally finished, but I really wanted to show it to you.
I am always open for your comments, it always help me improve soooo much!
Love you all, and I come by often even if I don't publish! See you more in the summer

That's a great little map, Mimine

Thank you Mouse! Actually, it is an area underneath a "floating" continent, and it is cursed so there is absolutely no light in it! I didn't really know how to represent the floating continent, so I thought I might just draw it separately

Oh I see! I think I agree with you about drawing it separately, though I would add some kind of reference to it, perhaps in the legend? I don't know.
Just as a side note I also have a shadow cast on my fictional world, but in my case its the permanent shadow of a twin world. I never tried to map both the worlds on one map. Instead I mapped the first world (Ethran) showing the fall of the shadow of its sister world (Errispa) on the surface, just as you have done with your floating continent, but I also added a reference to it in the words I added to the map in the top right corner - as if written by the cartographer.

Just an idea

I thought about drawing it in the legend, and I tried (you can see it in the previous versions), but it wasn't very good looking, so I abandoned the idea :p

Thank you Ilanthar! I wasn't convinced myself, actually :p I am still trying to figure out how to make the ocean look nice on maps ^^
