April 2019 Challenge: Frozen Treasures

Aye, I could not let this beauty fly by without me participating. So, here I go!

There is a tale of a place that lies far into the frozen seas to the north. Few be willing to sail the seas into the treacherous straights, but whoever would brave them dangers would find the treasures of a once prosperous kingdom that was engulfed by the terrible freeze. Just beware, there be whispers of beasties that way, once who made those cold seas their home. Ye be warned!

I don't how many updates I will be able to do this month, but I will try my best.

I definitely like the first one better as a picture, but the second one works better as a map, looking like it was painted on hide or something.

Thanks, and I absolutely agree with you. Which is why I am in a bit of pickle about how to go about getting some of the details from the 1st one to better translate to the second one.

Personally I 'd prefer a version between the two, as the second one makes me think of a distant planet instead of the far north. It's all up to you tho.

Then let the map show a vision of that dangerous place in the frozen places of the world, promising riches for those who dare take up its quest!

I wanted to give that glowing feeling on the map to maybe catch that feeling of the map coming alive to show this scene, where the treasure horde can be found beyond those haunted shores.

(Used the texture as a layer above the image on low opacity and dodging it to get the effect.)
