    Default Watercolor of Ancient Athens

I just ran across this watercolor rendering of Ancient Athens. I'm not sure of the scale, but as a point of reference, the Parthenon (which sits atop the Acropolis) measures roughly 100 ft by 230 ft.

    Anywho: Ancient Athens

Wow that's awesome detail. Have some rep for bringing this to my attention.

The picture is actually from a book called "The Ancient City" by Peter Connolly and Hazel Dodge. The book covers both Ancient Athens and Rome and includes a lot of nice drawings by Connolly depicting how life and housing was in those two cities. I can really recommend the book for anyone interested in cities or ancient Greece, Rome.

    You can get it here.

That's pretty awesome. While we're linking maps of ancient cities, here's one for you all:

I'm very fond of Roman history myself! That site also has some nice historical maps of europe in sequence every century.
