Wip Mar / April '18 Lite Challenge: Continent of Daelin

I may be a little late, but I figured I might as well submit something. Hopefully, I find time to work on it. As you can tell from the title I've already started using Guild names for the continent name.

Anyway, here is the outline of the coasts. I'll try and decide what style I'm going for and then I'll get more down.

Welcome to the challenge, Ottehcnor. Good landmass shape.

I've added some color and background texture. My water is mostly done, although I may still tweak it as I go. Also, I have the layout for mountains and rivers, just to give you all some idea of where I'm taking this. After I spend some time on those, I'll get forests and start the naming process.

I changed my mind on the water. I wanted a lighter color so that the rings would be more visible.

Also, I've added the mountains and some more parchment texture. Next I'll get to work on replacing the river layout with actual rivers.

Any critique of the mountains would be most welcome. I'm still working on getting a good feel that walks the border between artistic and realistic.

I really like the original rich dark blue ocean color, but i think the lighter blue does work better for the map.

Now I've got the rivers all worked out. The next step will be the forests, then I'll start naming geographic features and work on countries & cities.

The lighter blue and the background in general are beautifully colored. I like the water lines, too.

Thank you! I really like the effect on the background with just a little color in the noise layer, too!

Now I've gotten all the geographic features finished (more or less, I may still do some tweaking). Next up I'll be adding names, country boundaries, and cities.

Added the Geographic Labels. Next on to cities, and if I have time, I'll start working out possible national borders.

Let me know if there are any places you find difficult to read - I'll do my best to fix those spots up. Any other critique of the labels would be helpful as well.

Nice work the labels look good. I do Like "Bogie Forest". "You know what's in THERE, don't you? Don't you?"
